In order to make it easier for the students and less subject, you have to tell them what it s that students have to write about exactly. I mean, what aspects (opinions) do you want them to develop exactly? An article for whom, a magazine? a newspaper? Why should they write this? Do they pictures give them any clue about what to develop? Contextualization is needed.

How do the pictures tell me the content I should develop as a student? What structure do you want me to use?

Since the topic is to write about future events, the purpose of this writing is to assess students' use of the future tense. Also, as I said before, the images will tell the students what to include in their writings. For example, I gave students images of robots, electronic pets... etc. In this case students will know what exactly to include, they should talk about how technology can help people in the future...

Hello!
I think that the students need to know what kind of article they have to write. Asking the students to write an article make me think that maybe you are going to evaluate the structure of the article so.... What do you want to evaluate? Writing (as production) or the knowledge about how to write an article. What about the audience for the "article"? Contextualization is needed.
